Epilogue to Episode 51: Body Diversity Is Part of God’s Design
What would it look like if we truly believed and taught our children to believe that body diversity is part of God’s design?
Let’s embrace the way God made everybody differently.
Let’s celebrate the creativity of our Creator.
Diversity is to be respected.
All bodies are good bodies because God made them.
All sizes, shapes, colors, abilities, ages. All bodies deserve respect.
How do we treat others when we believe this?
How do we treat ourselves?
These are questions we don’t spend enough time with – reflecting on them, praying through it, talking with our faith communities about it.
Today, your challenge is to spend some time reflecting on body diversity and your beliefs about bodies.
Let’s pray.
God,
You created mankind in your own image.
Teach us what it means to be made in the image of God. Help us to truly understand and feel the dignity you’ve given us as image bearers.
Help us to recognize the dignity in every single body you’ve created. Lead us forward in embracing the unique body you’ve given us and teaching our children to do the same.
Give us eyes to see bodies as you see bodies.
Guide us in treating every body with respect and love.
We ask this in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
